A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
DESIGNATING AN HISTORIC RESOURCE
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 1954 establishes rules and regulations
governing the designation, preservation and perpetuation of
historical and scenic properties; and
WHEREAS, the Historic and Scenic Preservation Commission has
held a duly advertised public hearing to consider designating the
following as an historic resource-
Benton 0. Johnson Home
52 Summit Avenue
Redlands, California
WHEREAS, the Historic and Scenic Preservation Commission has
nominated the abovementioned property as a historic property in
accordance with procedures established in Ordinance No. 1954; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Redlands has held a
duly advertised public hearing to consider the recommendation of
the Historic and Scenic Preservation Commission; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the I
City of Redlands as follows. 1
1. The following property is hereby designated as an I
historic property (Historic Resource No. 49) :
Benton 0. Johnson Home
52 Summit Avenue
Redlands, California

2. This historic property shall not be altered on the
exterior, moved, demolished, subdivided, or other wise
permanently changed on the exterior unit a Certificate
of Appropriateness has been secured.
3. All provisions of Ordinance No. 1954, and any amend- 1
ments thereto, are in effe�t now and in the perpetual
future.
4. The City Clerk of the City of Redlands is hereby
directed to cause a certified copy of this Resolution
to be recorded with the County Recorder, County of San
Bernardino.
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 6th day of September , 1988 .

record of said County, lying West of the following described line.
COMMENCING at intersection of the South line of Summit Avenue and
the West line of Dwight Street; thence South 71° 38 ' West along the
said South line of Summit Avenue, 46 . 82 feet , thence continuing
along the said South line South 56° 20 ' West 148 .18 feet, thence
