RESOLUTION NO. 5818
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
DESIGNATING AN HISTORIC PROPER'T'Y
HISTORIC LANDMARK NO. 103
WHEREAS, Chapter 2.62 of the Redlands Municipal Code establishes rules and
regulations governing the designation, preservation and perpetuation of historical and scenic
properties; and
WHEREAS, the Historic and Scenic Preservation Commission has held a duly advertised
public hearing to consider designating the following as an historic landmark:
William P. Greiner Shrine Children's Home
703 San Mateo Street
Redlands, California
WHEREAS, the Historic and Scenic Preservation Commission has nominated the above-
mentioned property as a historic landmark in accordance with procedures established in Chapter
2.62 of the Redlands Municipal Code; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Redlands has held a duly advertised public
hearing to consider the recommendation of the Historic and Scenic Preservation Commission,
and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redlands as
follows:
I. The following property owned by David A. Van Diest and Rosa E. Gomez (as
described in Exhibit "A") is hereby designated as a historical landmark:
William P. Greiner Shrine Children's Home
703 San Mateo Street
Redlands, California

2. This historical landmark shall not be altered on the exterior, moved, demolished,
subdivided, or otherwise permanently changed on the exterior until a Certificate
of Appropriateness has been secured.
3. All provisions of Chapter 2.62 of the Redlands Municipal Code and any
amendments thereto, are in effect now and in the perpetual future.
4. The City Clerk of the City of Redlands is hereby directed to cause a certified copy
of this Resolution to be recorded with the County Recorder, County of San
Bernardino.
