HomeMy WebLinkAbout3571_CCv0001.pdf RESOLUTION NO. 3571 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS ESTABLISHING A HISTORICAL PRESERVE OF CITRUS WHEREAS, the City Council, in June, 1973 , established a tax for the acquisition and development of public park areas, and WHEREAS, this ordinance has been modified and amended to keep it current with municipal growth and inflation, and WHEREAS , the proliferation of housing tracts in 1977 and 1978 removed most of Redlands ' orange groves, and WHEREAS, Redlands has historically been famous for its citrus culture and beautiful groves, and WHEREAS , the City Council wishes to retain as a "Historical Preserve of Citrus" to be supported by crop receipts and Park Tax Funds, a historical representative portion of the citrus on the Judson Street and Crafton Avenue sites and the existing eleven acre site within Prospect Park, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the above named sites will be known as Historical Preserve Areas, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that these citrus preserves will be supported by such park tax monies as may be necessary and available.
