RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PUBLICATION OF NOTICES FOR PUBLIC HEARING
ON PROPOSED COOPERATION AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF REDLANDS
AND HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE COUNTY OF SAN BERNARDINO
WHEREAS, it is the policy of this locality to eliminate sub-
standard and other inadequate housing, to prevent the spread of
slums and blight, and to realize as soon as feasible the goal of
a decent home in a suitable living environment for all of its
citizens; and
WHEREAS, under the provisions of the United States Housing Act
of 1937, as amended, (herein called the "Act") the Department of
Housing and Urban Development (herein called "HUD") is authorized to
provide financial assistance to local public housing agencies (herein
after called "Local Authority") for undertaking and carrying out pre-
liminary planning of low-rent housing projects that will assist in
meeting this goal; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 15 (7) (b) of the Act, as amended it
is necessary in order to obtain Federal financial assistance for low-
rent housing that the local governing body enter into a Cooperation
Agreement with the Local Authority providing for local cooperation
in connection with such housing projects; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 34515 of the Health and Safety
Code express authority is given for local governing bodies to enter
into agreements with housing authorities providing for local coopera-
tion with respect to low-rent housing projects; and
WHEREAS, Section 34518 of the California Health and Safety Code
provides that prior to entering into a Cooperation Agreement with a
Housing Authority, the governing body of any State public body shall
hold a public hearing for the purpose of giving interested persons an
opportunity to be heard as to whether such Cooperation Agreement shall
be entered into; and such section of the mentioned Code further pro-
vides that notice of such hearing shall be published once a week for
at least two weeks orior to the date of the hearing, in a newspaper of
general circulation; and
WHEREAS, the City of Redlands proposes to enter into a Cooperation
Agreement with the Housing Authority of San Bernardino County, provid-
ing for local cooperation in connection with the development of dwell-
ing units for living accommodations for persons of low income to be
located in the City limits of Redlands7
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVES by the City Council of the City
of Redlands as follows :
1. That the City Clerk of the City of Redlands shall publish
a notice, in the form attached hereto as Exhibit "A, " in the Redlands
Daily Facts, a newspaper of general circulation on the 7th day of
March, 1979 and on the 13th day of March, 1979 , for a public hearing
to be held before this body on the 20th day of March, 1979 , at the
hour of 7: 00 P.M. for the purpose of giving interested persons an
opportunity to be heard as to whether such Cooperation Agreement
shall be entered into.
2. That three copies of the proposed Cooperation Agreement to
be considered by this .beady ,shall be available for inspction by
interested persons at the City Clerk ' s office prior to the public
hearing.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
ON PROPOSED COOPERATION AGREEMENT BETWEEN
THE CITY OF REDLANDS AND
THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE COUNTY OF SAN BERNARDINO
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held
before the City Council of the City of Redlands in the Council
Chambers, 212 Brookside Avenue, in the City of Redlands , County
of San Bernardino, California, on Tuesday, March 20, 1979, at
the hour of 7 : 00 P.M. for the purpose of giving interested persons
an opportunity to be heard as to whether a Cooperation Agreement
between the City of Redlands and the Housing Authority of the
County of San Bernardino providing for local cooperation in
connection with the development of dwelling units for living
accommodations for persons of low income in the city limits of
Redlands shall be entered into.
NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that copies of the proposed
Cooperation Agreement to be submitted to the Department of Housing
and Urban Development are now available for inspection by interested
persons at the office of the City Clerk.
This notice is given pursuant to the provisions of Section
34518 of the Health and Safety Code and Resolution No. 3560 of
the City of Redlands adopted on March 6 , 1979.
