MIEREAS, Public Libraries are inaniatained and operated by the cities of
REDLANDS, a municipal corporation; the CITY OF ALWADIA, a municipal corporation;
the DIST11ICT OF BUENA P.111111 , a public district of the State of California; t
COLNNTY OF LOS ANGELES, a body politic- the CITY OF LONG DEACU, as municipal cor—
poration; and the CITY OF SANTA BAFXA111, a rmaicipal t;arporation.

for the operation of its publia library; and
WHEMIS , each of the public agenicies has the power to approve the expend—
iture of funds on the part of the public library for the procuring of films to
be made available to persons utilizing the public library facilities; and
WHEREAS, a common film or audio visual inveEtory will -?reatly increase tLz,:
availability of 4 more exteusive supply of films or audio Visual media, thereby
providing additianal banefit to all persona using the respective library facil—
ities as the same arc waintaimed by each of the public agencieo; and

the Jollut exercise of any coo .o porter under Article 1. Chapter 5, Division 7,
Title 1, of the Govern--ont Code of the State of California.
BE IT i1EABBY RESOLVED:
SECTION ONE; That the A. K. UILEY LIBILVAY shall be authorized by the City
Council of the City of Redlands to participate in a co",won film or audio Visual
inventory which shall be made available to the public library .of eat?i of the
contractiner parties on a participating basis;
SECTION TWO: That the A. K. SMILEY LXBLLRY is hereby authorized and eys—
powered to execute a Joint Powers Agreement providing for a common pool or aupply
of filu and audio viaual materials with the following
CITY 0.11 ARCADIA, a municipal corporation; the DISTIUCT OF BUENA PAPM,
as public district of the State of California; the COUNTY OF LOS
ANGELES, a body politic; tha CITY OF LONG BILAC4% a municipal earpor—
ation; the CITY OF SANTA BARWEM, a municipal corporation.
SECTION THREE- That tile Joint Powers Agreement shall be admini-itere'd by

parties to the agreoment with power a and duties specified in said agreement.
SECTION Fa- That A. K. SUILTEY LIBRARY is hereby authorized to centribute
61300.00 to the operating fund of the �ommissioa.
SECTION FIVE: The President of the Board of Directors of A. K. 6-111LEY
MiMAHY is authorized to sign and exccata Via Joint Powers Agreement, a copy of
which in attached to this Meaolutian.
