A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY" OF REDLANDS
REQUESTING THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF SAN
BERNARDDINO TO ESTABLISH ANIS OPERATE A SANITARY LANDFILL
SITE IN THE REDLANDS AREA
WHEREAS the effective management of solid waste disposal is
an ever _mounting problem for the various municipalities in the
County of San Bernardino, and
WHEREAS the location of a sanitary landfill site is dic-
rated by manv factors such as the possibility of pollution of
underground water supplies, the cast and distance of the haul.
from. the pickup point to the landfill site, and the site ' s com-
patabi li ty with the surrounding property, and
WHEREAS the choice of appropriate locations of landfill
sites fulfilling all these criteria is normally - ery limited
within the geographical limits of a municipality, and
WHEREAS the County of San Bernardino normally has a measure
of latitude in sanitary fill site selections, due to geographi-
cal factors, and
WHEREAS the City of Redlands will be in argent need of a
suitable ,sanitary landfill site in the Redlands area by July,
1973, and
WHEREAS no suitable sanitary landfill site location, exists
within the city limits of Redlands,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Citi, Council of the
City of Redlands at its meeting of October 19, 1971, that the
Supervisors of the County of San. Bernardino be respectfully
request-ed to establish and operate a sanitary landfill site in
the Redlands area for the use of the City of Redlands and the
adjoining cities and unincorporated count=, areas
ADOPTED, SIGNED ANIS APPROVED this 19th day of October,
