HomeMy WebLinkAbout4372_CCv0001.pdf RESOLUTION NO. 4372 xA A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS ORDERING THE MAINTENANCE OF IMPROVEMENTS IN LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE DISTRICT NO. I GIVING FINAL APPROVAL OF THE ENGINEER' S REPORT, AND CONFIRMING THE ASSESSMENT FOR THE 1988-89 FISCAL YEAR WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Redlands did on the 17th day of May, 1988 , adopt its Resolution of Intention No. 4370 to order the therein described work in connection with the assessment procedures in Landscape Maintenance District No. 1 , which Resolution of Intention No. 4370 was duly and legally published in the time , form and manner as required by law, shown by the affidavit of Publication of said Resolution of Intention on file in the office of the City Clerk ; and WHEREAS, said City Council having duly received and considered evidence , oral and documentary, concerning the jurisdiction facts in this proceeding and concerning the necessity for the contemplated work and the benefits to be derived therefrom and said City Council having now acquired jurisdiction to order the proposed maintenance work; SECTION 1. it is hereby resolved by the City Council of the City of Redlands that the public interest and convenience requires the continuation of assessment procedures for the district, and said City Council hereby orders that the work, as set forth and described in said Resolution of Intention No. 4370 , be done and made; and SECTION 2. Be it further resolved that the report filed by the Engineer is hereby finally approved ; and SECTION 3 . Be it finally resolved that the assessments for Fiscal Year 1988-89 and method of assessment in the Engineer ' s Report are hereby approved. 17 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 7th day of June , 1988 . Bobertz . `i Enclosed are 20 copies of the booklet containing the 1988-89 Engineer ' s Report and associated resolutions for Landscape Main- tenance District Number 1 in the City of Redlands. The 20 copies of I the booklet are for delivery to the City Clerk for inclusion as a consent item for the May 17 , 1988 , Council meeting. Included in the booklet are four resolutions and the Engineer ' s Report. For your information I will summarize the contents of the booklet and suggest procedures to be followed which will result in the confirmation of the levying of the assessments. 1 . The first resolution in the booklet was adopted by the City Council on February 2 , 1988 , and is included only for infor- mation. This resolution, Number 4343 , does not require any action by the Council. 2 . The second and third resolutions in the booklet are proposed to be acted upon by the City Council on May 17 , 1988 . The second resolution gives preliminary approval of the Engineer ' s Report. � �� The third resolution is the Council ' s declaration of intention of ,b4 ,11 levying assessments on benefiting properties for costs involved +lr in the landscape maintenance district, and setting June 7 , 1988 , as the date for the public hearing to consider the assessments. The second and third resolutions in the booklet should be adopted by the City Council at their meeting of May 17 , 1988 , as consent calendar items. 3. The Engineer ' s Report outlines the basis for the assessments i which will be levied and estimates the dollar value required for the maintenance and incidental expenses of the district through the end of the 1988-89 Fiscal Year. __j 2627 S.
