HomeMy WebLinkAbout5800_CCv0001.pdf RESOLUTION NO. 5800 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS DESIGNATING THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR THE A. K. SMILEY PUBLIC LIBRARY AS THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE REDLANDS HISTORICAL MUSEUM WHEREAS,on January 28,2000,the City Council authorized the formation of a committee to study the feasibility of establishing an historical museum; and WHEREAS, on May 2, 2000, the City Council designated the City Hall building located at 30 Cajon Street, as the site of the City's future museum; and WHEREAS, on September 3, 2000, the City Council designated the A. K. Smiley Library and its Board of Trustees as the repository for donated materials until the museum is established. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: I. The City Council of the City of Redlands hereby appoints the A. K. Smiley Public Library, through its Board of Trustees, as the administrator of the proposed Redlands Historical Museum. 2. The Board of Trustees of the A. K. Smiley Public Library agrees to take charge of the museum site, premises and any collections that may be placed in said building. 3. When the Redlands Historical Museum becomes operational,the funds for maintenance of the museum shall be provided by the City of Redlands. .ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 3rd day of October, 2000.
