A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
ESTABLISHING LIBRARY FEES FOR THE A. K. SMILEY PUBLIC LIBRARY
WHEREAS, Chapter 3.16 of the Redlands Municipal Code authorizes the City Council of
the City of Redlands ("this City Council") to levy fees and charges for costs reasonably borne in
providing City services. and
WHEREAS,the Board of Trustees for the A.K. Smiley Public Library,under Section 18919
of the Rules, Regulations and Bylaws section of the State Education Code, authorized an increase
in library fees at its November 11, 1997 regular meeting; and
WHEREAS,this City Council has found and determined that the fees and charges established
by this Resolution are reasonable, fair and equitable in nature and proportionately representative of
the costs incurred by the City in providing the services;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The fees for Library services are as follows:
Service Fee
Late book return 15 cents/book/day; Maximum $7.50
Book loss Cost of book or item
Reservation of library materials 50 cents/book
Non-resident fee $25/year
Section 2. Executive Order Summary dated October, 1997, pertaining to the A. K. Smiley
Public Library is hereby rescinded.
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 17th day of February, 1998.
