HomeMy WebLinkAbout5136_CCv0001.pdf RESOLUTION NO. 5136 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS RATIFYING A PROCLAMATION DECLARING THE EXISTENCE OF A LOCAL EMERGENCY WHEREAS, California Government Code Section 8630 et seq. empowers the Mayor to proclaim the existence or threatened existence of a local emergency when said city is affected or likely to be affected by a public calamity and the City Council is not in session; WHEREAS, on the 10th day of January, 1995, Swen Larson, Mayor of the City of Redlands, proclaimed the existence of a local emergency based on the following findings: 1. That conditions of extreme peril to the safety of persons and property arose within said City, caused by winter storms/local flooding, and 2. That the City Council of the City of Redlands was not in session and could not immediately be called into session; and WHEREAS, pursuant to State law and the Redlands Municipal Code, the City Council of the City of Redlands is required to ratify said proclamation within seven days thereafter; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redlands that a local emergency existed throughout the City and that the proclamation signed by Swen Larson, Mayor of the City of Redlands, on the 10th day of January, 1995 is hereby ratified. That conditions of extreme peril to the safety of persons and property have arisen within said City, caused by winter storms/local flooding; and ?, That the City Council of the City of Redlands is not in session and cannot immediately be called into session; NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY PROCLAIMED that a local emergency now exists throughout the City and IT IS FURTHER PROCLAIMED AND ORDERED that during the existence of said local emergency, the powers, functions, and duties of the emergency organization of the City shall be those prescribed by State law, the Redlands Municipal Code, ordinances and resolutions of this City and the City of Redlands Emergency Plan, as approved by the City Council of the City of Redlands, revised January, 1990.
