AGREEMENT FOR LEGAL SERVICES BETWEEN
THE CITY OF REDLANDS
AND
JONES MAYER
This Amendment Number One ("Amendment") is dated January 24, 2024
("Effective Date"), by and between the City of Redlands, a municipal corporation ("CITY")
and Jones Mayer ("LAW FIRM").
WHEREAS, CITY and LAW FIRM entered into an agreement on January 17, 2023,
for LAW FIRM to provide civil litigation defense and police advisory services at the
direction of the City Attorney to CITY on an as -needed basis (the "Agreement"); and
WHEREAS, Section 1 B of the Agreement provides for the Legal Fees to be paid
pursuant to the Agreement to LAW FIRM; and
WHEREAS, CITY and LAW FIRM desire to increase the hourly billing rate for
attorneys providing services pursuant to the Agreement to reflect inflationary expenses.
NOW, THEREFORE, for valuable consideration, the receipt and sufficiency of
which is hereby acknowledged, the parties agree as follows:
1. Section 1 B of the Agreement shall be amended to state that CITY will
compensate LAW FIRM for services provided by Partners, Associates and
Of Counsel at the hourly rate of $275.00. Said billing rate adjustment will be
in effect for services provided on and after February 1, 2024.
2. All other terms, conditions, and provisions of the Agreement shall remain in
full force and effect.
3. This Amendment may be executed in one or more counterparts, each of
which shall be deemed an original. All counterparts shall be construed
together and shall constitute one agreement.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the Parties hereto have caused this Amendment to be
executed by and through their respective authorized officers, as of the date first above
written.
