ARESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
THORIZING CERTAIN OF ITS MEMBERS TO FILE A WRITTEN ARGUMENT
REG4iRDING A CITY MEASURE AND DIRECTING THE CITY ATTORNEY TO
PREp4RE AN IMPARTIAL ANALYSIS
WHEREAS, A General Municipal Election is to be held in
the Cit�,sof Redlands on November 3 , 1987 , at which there will
be submitted to the voters the following measure:
"Shall an initiative ordinance requiring
the City Council of the City of Redlands
to '„establish voting districts based upon
population within the City, be adopted?"
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
does resolve, declare, determine and order as follows:
SECTION ONE: TfTat the City Council authorizes
members of that body, to file a written argument against the
City measure set forth in the recitals hereof in accordance
with Article 4 , Chapter 3 , Di,rJ sion 5 of the Elections Code
of the State of California and to change the argument until
and including the date fixed by the City Clerk after which no
arguments for or against the City measure may be submitted to
the City Clerk .
SECTION TWO. That the City Cocil directs the City
Clerk to transmit a copy of the measa..re to the City Attorney.
The City Attorney shall prepare an imrtial analysis of the
measure showing the effect of the measue on the existing law
and the operation of the measure. The unpartial analysis
shall be filed by the date set by the City Clerk for the
filing or primary arguments.
