HomeMy WebLinkAbout4951_CCv0001.pdf RESOLUTION NO. 4951 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS SUPPORTING THE PASSAGE OF MEASURE T WHEREAS, the existing school facilities for secondary students within the Redlands Unified School District are overcrowded; and WHEREAS, the existing facility at Redlands High School was designed to accommodate 2,300 students, and current enrollment is 3,300 students; and WHEREAS, there are currently enough students enrolled in grades 9 through 12 to fill two high schools and over seventy-five percent of the students in the Redlands Unified School District are residents of the City of Redlands; and WHEREAS, the Redlands Unified School District has placed a bond measure on the ballot for March 2, 1993, for construction funds for a second high school, otherwise known as Measure T and none of the proposed bond money will be used for administrator salaries; and WHEREAS, current and future children of the City of Redlands deserve the same quality education that graduates of Redlands High School have received for over 100 yea rs; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Redlands expresses its full support for the passage of Measure T, to provide funds for construction of a second high school within the boundaries of the Redlands Unified School District; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council urges all residents of the City of Redlands to vote for Measure T on March 2, 1993.
