HomeMy WebLinkAbout5473_CCv0001.pdf RESOLUTION 5473 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS ADOPTING PROVISIONS PERTAINING TO THE IMPLEMENTATION OF MEASURE "U" RECITALS WHEREAS, on November 4, 1997 the voters of Redlands approved Measure "U," an initiative Ordinance of the people of Redlands establishing principals of managed development; and WHEREAS, the results of the election were certified on December 2, 1997 and the Measure took effect on December 12, 1997, and WHEREAS, the City Council has held workshops pertaining to the implementation of Measure "U" on January 6th, 13th, 20th, and 27th, 1998 and February 3, and 17th, 1998 that were open to the public; and WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed, discussed and provided direction on the implementation of Measure °U;" NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND FOUND BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The above mentioned recitals are true and correct. Section 2. The City Council has reviewed and considered issues pertaining to the implementation of Measure "U" and implements the following measures: (A) The City Council finds that regarding the requirement for preparing a socioeconomic cost/benefit study, the phrase "projects involving structures larger than 5,000 square feet," shall pertain to the building and any outdoor use but shall not include the surrounding parking areas required for the use. (B) The City Council finds that regarding the requirement for preparing a socioeconomic cost/benefit study, the phrase "projects involving structures larger than 5,000 square feet," shall pertain to the cumulative total of the use as a result of the "project." (C) The City Council finds that a socioeconomic cost/benefit study shall not be required for a General Plan Amendment, Zoning Amendment, or Specific Plan Amendment initiated by the City of Redlands when the result of the action does not relate to a specific development project.
