HomeMy WebLinkAbout8564RESOLUTION NO. 8564 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS APPROVING A ONE-YEAR EXTENSION OF THE EXPIRATION DATE FOR COMMISSION REVIEW & APPROVAL NO. 931, WITH ASSOCIATED ENTITLEMENTS, TO CONSTRUCT A 40,415 SQUARE -FOOT HOTEL BUILDING AND RELATED SITE IMPROVEMENTS LOCATED ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF WEST COLTON AVENUE AT COLUMBIA STREET AND 719 NORTH EUREKA STREET (APN'S: 0169-155-05-0000 and 0169-142-07- 0000). WHEREAS, Jeni Jackman, property owner and applicant, has submitted an application for Extension of Time No. 1 to construct the project approved with Commission Review & Approval No. 931 for a 40,415 square -foot hotel building located on the south side of West Colton Avenue at Columbia Street and 719 N. Eureka Street (APN's: 0169-155-05-0000 and 0169-142-07-0000) in the Village General (TVSP/VG) District of the Transit Villages Specific Plan; and WHEREAS, on April 12, 2022, the Redlands Planning Commission held a public hearing, and adopted Resolution No. 1573 to approve Commission Review & Approval No. 931, Lot Line Adjustment No. 665, and the associated Socio-Economic Cost/Benefit Study for the project; and WHEREAS, Redlands Municipal Code section 18.12.130 permits an applicant to request a one-year extension of time to extend the expiration date for a Commission Review & Approval permit, provided the total number of such one-year extensions do not exceed three; and WHEREAS, the applicant intends to develop the project approved by Commission Review & Approval No. 931, and requests the extension due to a change of ownership; and WHEREAS, following the hearing for the extension of time to Commission Review & Approval No. 907, the City Council determined that the approval of the requested one-year extension of time is in the best interests of the public health, safety, and general welfare. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. California Environmental Quality Act. Approval of this Resolution is exempt from further environmental review pursuant to Section 15061(b)(3) of the State Guidelines implementing the California Environmental Quality Act, as there is no possibility of any potentially significant environmental effects as a result of the time extension. Planning Commission Resolution No. 1573 was adopted on April 12, 2022, and determined the project was exempt from environmental review in accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act. SECTION 2. Approval of Extension of Time. The proposed one-year extension of time for Commission Review & Approval No. 931, with associated entitlements, is hereby approved in accordance with Redlands Municipal Code Section 18.12.130. 1 I:\Resolutions\Res 8500-8599\8564 Time Extension for Commission Review Approval No. 931.docx-ms SECTION 3. Expiration Date. The new expiration date for Commission Review & Approval No. 931 shall be April 12, 2025. The project shall remain subject to all original Conditions of Approval contained in Planning Commission Resolution No. 1573. SECTION 4. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.
