A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY 'OF REDLANDS REQUESTING THE
BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF SAN BERNARDIN70 TO PLACE ON THE BALLOT
FOR THE ISO' EMBER STH GENERAL ELECTION A MEASURE TO ESTABLISH HUNK=AL
ELECTIONS BY DISTRICT IN THE CITY OF REDLANDS
WHERE-AS, a General Election is to be held in the State of California
on November 5, 1974, and
WHEREAS , the City Council of the City of Redlands did vote on May 21,
1.974 to present the citizens with the option of election of City Council
members by district, and
WHEREAS , all necessary expense in performing this service shall be
paid by the City of Redlands ;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS DOES HEREBY
RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS
SECTION 1. That pursuant to the provisions of Section 3487170 of the
Code of the State of California, this City Council hereby requests the
Board of Supervisors of said County to order the Registrar of Voters to
include the following ballot measure :
"Shall members of the legislative body of the City of Redlands
be elected by districts described in Ordinance No. 1550"
followed by the words "yes" and "no, " so printed that the voters
may express their choice,
SECTION 2. That said City shall reimburse said County for this
work upon presentation to the City of a properly approved bill .
SECTION 3, That the City Clerk is hereby directed to forward without
delay to said Board of Supervisors and to said Registrar of Voters, each,
a certified copy of this resojution.
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 30t1n- day of July, 1974.
