HomeMy WebLinkAbout4337_CCv0001.pdf e r • `t C;11 pi /�efijtjjj.4 RESOLUTION NO. 4337 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS, RECOGNIZING THE WEEK OF FEBRUARY 21 - 27 , 1988, AS NATIONAL ENGINEER' S WEER WHEREAS, the National Society of Professional Engineers celebrates National Engineers ' Week annually during the week of George Washington ' s traditional birthday, in honor of our first President who was a noted military engineer and land surveyor; and WHEREAS, engineering technology is a vital element in providing health, safety, and economical growth for the citizens of the Inland Empire, the State of California, and the Nation; and WHEREAS, the engineering profession is composed of members in all technical branches employed in private practice, industry, education, government, and construction; and WHEREAS, the various local, State and National Engineering Societies have joined efforts to provide an educational Engineer ' s Week for the public; and WHEREAS, the City of Redlands has long recognized the value of the engineering profession in service to the public and supports Engineer 's Week; and WHEREAS, the Inland Empire Council of Engineers and Scientists, an association of most professional Engineering Societies, in the Inland Empire, has been actively involved in planning for the various local activities. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redlands, State of California in regular session assembled on February 2, 1988, that the week of February 21 - 27 , 1988, be recognized as National Engineer's Week in honor of the many engineers of the City of Redlands.
