SHEREAS, with present revenues it is estimated that by the year 1980 one hundred per cent of the deficiencies on the state highvvray system will have been corrected, twenty—seven per cent of the county read deficiencies will have been corrected, and only fourteen per cent of the city street doficiencies, will have been corrected. WiIERLASO highway user tax funds available for street and highway par ores should be oxpended as nearly as poazible on the basis of greatest need. NHEUEAS, deficiencies on the street and high-,iray systems of eau h govern— mental jnri3diction should be corrected at approxi-mately the same rate. WMIUAS, cities are willin'; to assume their lull share of the respon— sibility for correcting city street deficiencies within their financial ability to do so. BE IT AUREBY RESMIED: 1. That to accomplish an orderly and expeditious correction of city 5treet deficiencies, the City of Redlands h%s%Yr 1 ,3 4 c olnm adoption of Assem bly Bill providing for &As ate gas �&ax for expenditure on major city streets. 2.
