HomeMy WebLinkAbout2966_CCv0001.pdf RESOLUTION No. 2966 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF REDIANDS OPPOSING THE INSTALLATION OF ELECTRICAL DErLAND METERS WHEREAS, the City of Redlands and the Redlands Unified School District, through the Recreation Commission, must now pay substantial additional electrical power charges due to the installat-ion of taro electrical demand meters which provide illumination at recreational sites, and WHERE-AS, the possibility exists of another electrical demand meter being installed at Sylvan Plunge, and WHEREAS, the charge for each electrical demand meter is averag- inq about $150 .00 per month, and WHEREAS, the Redlands Recreation Commission offers a public service to the citizens of Redlands and the students in the Redlands Unified School District on a non-profit basis at the sites where electrical demand meters have been or may be installed; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Redlands formally requests the League of California Cities to protest the installation of these demand meters, and further to request that the Public Utilities Commission consider granting a wail of Revised Cal. P.U.C. Sheet Number 4291B to exclude the installation of electrical demand meters at sites utilized for non- profit public service. ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 5th day of July, 1972 . ick B.
