HomeMy WebLinkAbout6530_CCv0001.pdf RESOLUTION NO. 6530 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS ACCEPTING THE CALTRANS TRANSPORTATION PLANNING GRANT FOR THE ORANGE BLOSSOM TRAIL/EAST VALLEY CITRUS HERITAGE LINEAR PARK AND TRAIL WHEREAS, the City of Redlands ("City") and the County of San Bernardino ("County") applied for and were awarded a grant from the California Department of Transportation to prepare a conceptual plan for the development of a trail through the City and the unincorporated area of the County that will connect to the Santa Ana River Trail; and WHEREAS, the City and the County seek to combine their resources and respective grant funding to conduct technical analyses, undertake public outreach, prepare the refined concept plan, transit operating plan, design documents and conceptual design plans for the trail which is commonly referred to as the "Orange Blossom Trail/East Valley Citrus Heritage Linear Park and Trail" (the "Orange Blossom Trail"); and WHEREAS, the City and County propose to enter into a memorandum of understanding to document their respective rights and obligations with regard to the development of the Orange Blossom Trail; and WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County proposes to adopt a resolution to confirm the establishment of the division of labor and cost sharing to complete the conceptual plan for the Orange Blossom Trail; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The City Manager of the City is hereby authorized and empowered to execute all documents, including contracts, subcontracts, agreements, extensions, renewals and/or amendments required which may be necessary to carry out and administer all obligations, responsibilities and duties under the grant upon receipt of a fully executed resolution signed by the Chairman of the Board of Supervisors of the County; Section 2. The City's Finance Director is hereby authorized to establish a separate interest-bearing grant fund account as needed; Section 3. The City's Finance Director is also hereby authorized to include the Orange Blossom Trail in the City of Redlands' Fiscal Year Capital Improvements Program upon receipt of a fully executed program supplement; DJMUteso16530 Section 4.
