A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
DECLARING ITS INTENT TO DISESTABLISH THE PARKING AND
BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT AREA KNOWN AS "REDLANDS PARKING
AND BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT AREA B"
WHEREAS,a parking and improvement business area known as"Redlands Parking and
Business Irnprovement Area B"("'PBIA')was created pursuant to Streets and Highways Code
section 36500 et seq in December of 1975 by the City Council of the City of Redlands CCity
Council")adoption of Ordinance No. 1570; and
WHEREAS, Streets and Highways Code section 36550 authorizes the City Council to
disestablish a parking and improvement district by ordinance,after adopting a resolution of
intention prior to conducting a public hearing on the ordinance;
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redlands as
follows:
Section 1. That it is the intent of the City Council to disestablish the parking and
improvement business area known as"Redlands Parking and Business Improvement Area B."
Section 2. A public hearing shall be held before the City Council on December 6,
2011 at 6:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter can be heard, at 35 Cajon Street, Suite 2,
Redlands, California, at which time the City Council will hear all protests for or against the
disestablishment of the PBIA.
Section 3. City staff is instructed to publish this Resolution one time in the Redlands
Daily Facts newspaper and to mail a copy of this resolution to each business in the PBIA.
Mailing of this Resolution shall be completed within seven (7) days of the adoption of this
Resolution and publication shall be completed at least seven (7) days prior to the time of the
public hearing.
Section 4. Any revenues derived from the levy of assessments by the PBIA, and any
revenues derived from the sale of assets acquired with such revenues, will be returned to the
owners of the businesses located and operating within the PBIA by applying the same method
and basis that was used to calculate the assessments levied in the most recent fiscal year such
levies were collected-
