A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
REDUCING THE SPECIAL TAX FOR EMERGENCY PARAMEDIC SERVICE
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 1780 , an ordinance of the people of the City
of Redlands, California, levying a special tax for emergency paramedic
service was approved by more than two-thirds (2/3) of the voters at an
election held in the City of Redlands on April 13 , 1982; and
WHEREAS, Section 2 of Ordinance No. 1780 levied and assessed a
special tax on each improved parcel of property, each residential unit
in a multiple dwelling, and each mobile home site; and
WHEREAS, Section 5 of Ordinance No. 1780 empowers the City Council,
by three (3) affirmative votes, to suspend all or any part of the tax
imposed by this ordinance; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Redlands finds in its
exercise of reasonable discretion and fiscal prudence that the special
tax can be reduced during the fiscal year 1984-85 without depriving the
citizens of the City of Redlands an adequate level of paramedic services
in accordance with the purposes set forth in Ordinance No. 1780;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS does hereby
resolve that the special tax for emergency paramedic service shall be
as follows for fiscal year 1984-85 only:
Single Family $ 19. 61
(including condominiums)
Multi-family and Mobile Home Units 14 . 70 per unit
Commercial and Industrial:
0 - 4 , 999 sq. ft. 39. 22
5, 000 - 9, 999 sq. ft. 78 . 44
10, 000 - 19, 999 sq. ft. 156. 88
20, 000 - 39, 999 sq. ft. 235. 32
