A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
REDLANDS AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 2499 DECLARING
A NEED FOR A PARKING AUTHORITY TO FUNCTION IN
SAID CITY
WHEREAS, on January 18, 1966, this City Council
adopted its Resolution No. 2499 declaring that there is a
need for a Parking Authority to function in the City of
Redlands, and declaring this City Council to be the parking
authority; and
WHEREAS, said resolution clearly shows that it
was the intent of this City Council that there function in
said city a parking authority, a public body corporate and
politic separate and distinct from the city itself, as con-
templated by Section 32651 of the Streets and Highways Code;
that such parking authority have jurisdiction and control,
in matters specified in the Parking Law of 1949, within the
entire area of the city; and that this City Council, pursuant
to the authority granted by Section 32661.1 of said Code, be
the governing body of said parking authority; and
WHEREAS, while the above intentions are clear
from the face of said resolution, certain inadvertent
language used in Section 1 thereof might be deemed to be
inconsistent with such intentions, and it is therefor
desirable that said resolution be amended to clarify the
provisions of said Section 1 ; and
WHEREAS, it is also desirable that this City
Council establish the exact name of said parking authority;
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
REDLANDS DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1 . That Section 1 of Resolution No. 2499,
adopted by this City Council on January 18, 1966, be and it
is hereby amended to read as follows :
"SECTION 1 . That there is hereby declared a need
for a parking authority to function in the City of
Redlands to be known as the ' Parking Authority of the
City of Redlands ' and said parking authority is and
shall be a public body corporate and politic. "
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this resolution and thenceforth and thereafter
the same shall be in full force and effect.
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED THIS 2nd day of
May 1967 .
