HomeMy WebLinkAbout3397_CCv0001.pdf RESOLUTION NO. 3397 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS LIMITING THE NUMBER OF ITEMS THAT PLANNING COMMISSIONERS MAY HEAR DURING A PLANNING COMMISSION PUBLIC HEARING TO TWELVE (12) AGENDA ITEMS WHEREAS, the Department of Planning and Community Development has limited staff and in order to handle more than twelve agenda items would require additional staff; and WHEREAS, the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines now require lead agencies to perform and implement certain actions demanding additional staff time within the environ- mental review process, and WHEREAS, in order for staff to review a project with the utmost in professionalism and objectivity; to seek and review all potential and feasible alternatives; to adequately review all potential pro- blems to determine the most feasible solutions ; it becomes necessary to limit the number of items that can be handled adequately; WHEREAS, in order for Planning Commissioners to make the best possible decision and implement the objectives and goals of the city, it becomes necessary to limit the number of items that they must act upon. THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS: 1. That the City Council of the City of Redlands hereby limits the number of agenda items that Planning Commissioners may hear at a Planning Commission public hearing to no more than twelve (12) agenda items. This policy shall be effective starting and including the Planning Commission meeting of October 11, 1977. 2 . That agenda items which have been continued from previous meetings shall have first priority. 3. That urgency items as defined and approved by the Director of Planning and Community Development (or his designee) may be added to the agenda.
