HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances_2819ORDINANCE NO. 2819 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS AMENDING TITLE 18 OF THE REDLANDS MUNICIPAL CODE BY ADOPTING A REVISED LAND USE ZONING MAP (ZONE CHANGE NO. 443) THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: WHEREAS, in accordance with Government Code section 65855, the Planning Commission of the City of Redlands has reviewed the proposed Zone Change No. 443 (the "Zone Change") to change the City's land use zoning map from the A-1 (Agricultural) District to the R-E (Residential Estate) District for approximately 32.28 acres located on the north side of San Bernardino Avenue, approximately 600 feet east of Judson, Street, and after holding a noticed public hearing, made a writtenrecommendationfor adoption of the Zone Change to the City Council; and WHEREAS, on May 12, 2015, the Planning Commission held a noticed public hearing on the Zone Change and considered verbal and written testimony of City staff, the applicant for the proposed Zone Change, and testimony from members of the public; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has recommended to the City Council that the Zone Change be approved; and WHEREAS on June 9, 2015, December 22, 2015 and June 9, 2016 notice of this City Council public hearings for the Zone Change was published in the Redlands Daily Facts by the City Clerk; and WHEREAS, on July 7, 2015, July 21, 2015 and June 21, 2016 the City Council held public hearings, and considered the staff written and oral reports, the recommendation of the Planning Commission, the testimony and written evidence submitted by and on behalf of the applicant, and testimony by members of the public; and WHEREAS, following a public hearing on the Zone Change, at which time the City Council provided an opportunity for public testimony, the City Council determined that adoption of the Zone Change is in the best interests of the public health, safety and general welfare; Section 1. The zoning designation for approximately 32.28 acres located on the north side of San Bernardino Avenue, approximately 600 feet east of Judson Street, is hereby changed from the A-1 (Agricultural) District to the R-E (Residential Estate) District on the City's Land Use Zoning Map as more particularly shown on the map attached hereto as Exhibit "A." Section 2. The Mayor shall sign this ordinance and the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance and shall cause it, or a summary of it, to be published once I:\cclerk\Ordinances\Nos 2800-2899 in Word\2819 Zone Change 443.docx 1 in the Redlands Daily Facts, a newspaper of general circulation within the City, and thereafter, this ordinance shall take effect in accordance with law.
