RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE

THE GENERAL PREVAILING RATE OF PER DIEM
WAGE AND THE GENERAL PREVAILING RATE FOR
LEGAL HOLIDAY AND OVERTIME WORK IN SAID
CITY FOR CERTAIN CRAFTS OR TYPES OF WORKMEN.
WHEREAS, this City Council of the City of Redlands
has by its Resolution No. iggg ordered certain work or im-
provement, said work or improvement being more particularly
described in its Resolution No. 656, and shown on plans
(which include profiles and detailed drawings) designated
"Flan No. 1949-1' on file in the office of the City Clerk of

*Standard Specifications No. 1949-1", also on file in the
office of said City Clerk; and
WHEREAS, this City Council has ascertained the
general prevailing rate of per diem wages in the locality
in .which said work is to be performed for each craft or type
of workman needed to execute the contracts for said work,
and this City Council has ascertained the general prevailing
rate for legal holiday and overtime work in said locality
for each craft or type of workman needed to execute said
contract;

Section 2. That the general prevailing rate
for overtime work in said locality for each craft or
type of workman needed to execute said contract is de-
termined to be one and one-half (1-1/2) times the said
prevailing hourly rate of wage for each hour of working
time more than eight (8) hours, during any one calendar
day. Said rate is determined to be the general prevailing
rate for working time on Sundays and the following seven
legal holidays, to wit: New Years Day, Decoration Day,
Independence Day, Labor Day, Armistice Day, Thanksgiving
Day and Christmas Jay. if any of the above named holidays
occur on Sunday, the Monday next succeeding shall be con-
sidered a legal holiday. Notwithstanding the general
Provisions hereinabove set forth, the straight rates as
specified for flagmen, guards and watchmen are applicable
to a maximum of eight (8) hours per calendar day including
Saturdays, Sundays and holidays for a total of not over
forty (40) hours per week, but the overtime rate herein-
above set forth applies to flagmen, guards and watchmen
for any working time in excess of eight (8) hours per day
or forty (40 ) hours per week.
