The following City-initiated development projects are hereby listed for purposes of eligibility for federal funding: A. Alabama Street / Colton Avenue / Redlands Boulevard Intersection Realignment Project — Realigns the offset intersection of Alabama and Redlands, which is currently too narrow to effectively convey traffic, and realigns the intersection of Colton and Redlands, because the current alignment creates difficult driving conditions. Correcting these configurations and increasing the roadway width will reduce restrictions, restore efficient vehicular travel movement and facilitate the movement of goods and people along the Interstate 10 corridor. B. Downtown Storm Drain Project - Encourages Downtown Redlands' economic development by providing critical infrastructure for flood protection for the Historic Downtown. This Project is construction ready and will install almost a mile-long ten- inch storm drain in Downtown Redlands. Ls Cclerk\.Resolutions\Res 6800-6879\6806 Federal Legislative Priorities.doc 1 C. Recycled Water Project — Allows Construction of two reservoirs, a pump station and 3.9 miles of pipeline. The project will save 180 million gallons of groundwater over the life of the project. D. Crime Control Research Program — Imbeds a criminologist in the Redlands Police Department, which will leverage the department's existing resources by ensuring that the crime control strategies the department employs are evidence based, using the best available research. This novel approach aids public safety in the City and provides a new source of data to assist other departments locally and throughout the nation. E. City Facility HVAC Replacement Project — Replaces the City's energy inefficient heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems with modern, energy efficient equipment. The project will reduce energy consumption and improve indoor air quality, leading to better employee health. F. Safety Hall Replacement Project - Funds the acquisition of property, design and construction of a replacement facility for the City's Police Department, which has been displaced into makeshift and temporary locations by catastrophes and inadequate facilities. /A M714 of the City of Redlands Attest: City CJdrk VU I, Lorrie Poyzer, City Clerk of the City of Redlands, hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was adopted by the City Council at a regular meeting_ thereof held on the 6th day of January, 2009 by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Gilbreath, Gallagher, Aguilar, Bean, Mayor Harrison NOES: None ABSTAIN: None ABSENT: None City Clerk U:ccle&,Re:,olutionst.Res 6$00-687%6806 Federal begislative Piiorities, doc: 2
