A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
ESTABLISHING "REDLANDS RENT-A-KID WEEK'
WHEREAS, it is widely recognized that part-tune employment of
young people is a valuably: means of teaching them valuable skills
and work habits, and giving then an added measure of personal worth
and responsibility, and
WHEREAS, such employment is especially valuable during the
summer months as a constructive means of occupying the non-school
hours of our young people, preventing delinquency, vandalism and
other products of excessive idleness, and
WHEREAS, there are a number of meritorious programs, largely
staffed by volunteers, designed to aid young people in obtaining
temporary or part-time jabs, such as "Rent-A- Kid" and "Dent-A-
Clement--Kid", and these programs are worthy of the attention and
support of all Redlands area citizens,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the week of June 18th -
June 24th, 1972, be declared "Rent--A--Kid Week" in Redlands, during
which all citizens are urged to began finding jobs, large and
small, in which our young people can be constructively employed
during the summer months now upon us.
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 20th day of June, 1972 ,
