RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF REDLAiNDS EXPRESSING GRATITUDE TO THE
UNITED STATES ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS
WHEREAS, following flooding conditions in this area
last November 22, 1965, major debris was deposited in the
Mill Creek area posing a serious flood hazard threat to the
City of Redlands, and
WHEREAS, acting upon a request for emergency assist-
ance, the United States Army Corps- of Engineers completed
all emergency measures in a most satisfactory and effective
manner, affording the people of Redlands the urgently needed
emergency protection,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council
of the City of Redlands, on behalf of the people of this City,
express its deepest appreciation and gratitude to the United
States Army Corps of Engineers, to Brigadier General Ellis E.
Wilhoyt, Jr. , Division Engineer, South Pacific Division,
Colonel John A. B. Dillard, Los Angeles District Engineer and
the Corps staff for their excellent cooperation and fine -
assistance in the recent work carried out in the Mill Creek
floodway.
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 6th day of September,
1966.
