A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
AUTHORIZING ESTABLISHMENT OF AN ADOPT-A-STREET PROGRAM
WHEREAS, litter strewn along City streets creates a poor image of our City and lowers the quality of
life for our citizens and residents by contributing to blight; and
WHEREAS, the City of Redlands lacks staff resources sufficient to maintain City streets free of litter;
and
WHEREAS, many communities have turned to volunteers by establishing Adopt-a-Street programs to
address streetside litter; and
WHEREAS, an Adopt-a-Street Program will improve the City's image by addressing streetside litter;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT:
1. The City Council of the City of Redlands authorizes the establishment of an Adopt-a-Street Program.
2. The City Council of the City of Redlands authorizes and empowers the Director of Public Works to
implement an Adopt-a-Street Program and expend monies budgeted by the City Council for program
operations.
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 6th day of March, 2047.
