A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
APPROVING CERTAIN CITY OBLIGATIONS ENCOMPASSED IN A PROPOSED LEASE
BETWEEN THE CONTEMPORARY CLUB AND THE WATCHORN LINCOLN MEMORIAL
ASSOCIATION
WHEREAS, The Contemporary Club proposes to sell its Clubhouse to the Watchorn Lincoln
Memorial Association; and
WHEREAS, contemporaneous with the sale of its Clubhouse, The Contemporary Club
proposes to enter into a lease of the Clubhouse with the Watchorn Lincoln Memorial Association-,
and
WHEREAS, after completion of certain agreed upon improvements to the Clubhouse, the
Watchorn Lincoln Memorial Association proposes to donate the Clubhouse to the City; and
WHEREAS, contemporaneously with the donation of the Clubhouse to the City,the Watchorn
Lincoln Memorial Association proposes to assign the lease to the City; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Watchorn Lincoln Memorial Association and the City to
ensure that The Contemporary Club has access to meeting facilities while the improvements to the
Clubhouse are being undertaken;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
REDLANDS AS FOLLOWS:
Sectionl. The City Council hereby approves execution of the attached lease and agrees to be
bound by the provisions of Section 5.5 and Article 13 of the lease which apply to the City even before
any assignment of the lease to the City.
Section 2. The City Council fords and detennines that it can be seen with certainty that there
is no possibility that the adoption of this resolution may have a significant effect on the enviroinnent
and therefore such action is exempt from environinental review pursuant to section 15061(b)(3) of
the State Guidelines implementing the California Environinental Quality Act.
