HomeMy WebLinkAbout1072_CCv0001.pdf RESOLUTION NO. 1072 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS DECLARING THAT CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY IS NO LONGER. REQUIRED FOR PUBLIC USE, AND ORDERING SALE OF SAID PROPERTY. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS ORDAINS AND RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS - SECTION OLLOWS :SECTION ONE: That the City Council of the City of Redlands hereby finds and determines that the certain real property owned by said City, hereinafter described, is no longer required for public use: That portion of Lot 2 , Block 35, Addition No. 1 to Second Preliminary Map of Redlands, in the City of Redlands, County of San Bernardino, State of California, as per plat recorded in Book 5 of Maps , page 4, records of said County, described as follows : COMMENCING at the Southwest corner of Section 259 Town— ship I South, Range 3 West, Saxe Bernardino Base and. Meridian, as the lanes of the Government Survey Map be extended across the Rancho San Bernardino, thence East along the South line of said section about 435 feet to the West line of the Bear Valley Canal as the same existed in 1891 ; thence in a Northerly direction along said West line of the Bear Valley Canal 187 feet; thence in a Westerly direction along the South line of the land conveyed to Frank P. Morrison by Deed recorded April 19, 1884 in Book 37 of Deeds , page 27, 500 feet more or less to the West line of said section; thence South along the Fest line of said Section, 73 feet, more or less , to the point of beginning, SECTION TWO: That pursuant to said finding and determination, and pursuant to the provisions of law, said property hereinabove described shall be sold to the highest bidder for cash, lawful money of the United States ; sealed bids for the purchase of said property will be received by the City Council in the City Council Chamber, City Hall, Redlands , at the hour of 7:30 P.M. on the 3rd day of November , 1959, and after the opening of sealed bids , any person present may orally bid not less than One Hundred Dollars ($100,00) higher than the highest written bid and the bidding shall continue with oral bids of not less than One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) until the property shall be struck off to the highest bidder. SECTION THREE.- That no bid or offer for the purchase of said property less than. $3,000.00 cash,, lawful money of the United States, shall be considered or accepted by the Council, and the Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids and withdraw said property from sale, SECTION FOUR, That the said City Council shall conduct said sale for and in behalf of said City and award said property to the highest responsible bidder for cash, lawful money of the United States. SECTION FIVE.- That the City Council shall hear and pass upon all protests to the proposed sale at the City Council Chambers at the hour of 7:00 Pardo on the -3rd _ day of November_, 1959. SECTION SIX: That the successful bidder, immediately upon the confirmation of the award of the bid to him shall deliver to the said City Council of the City of Redlands , cash in the amount of Two Hundred ($200) dollars, which said amount shall be deposited in the City Treasury of the City of Redlands for the use of said City as liquidated damages in case of default or refusal of the bidder to comply with the terms of the bid, and, otherwise to be credited to the purchase price. SECTION SEVEN.- That the said City of Redlands shall convey the property by quitclaim deed to the successful bidder within ten (10) days after the award of the bid. SECTION EIGHT. That the City Clerk shall cause notice of this resolution to be published at least once prior to said sale in the Redlands Daily Facts , a newspaper of general circulation published in the City of Redlands , County of San Bernardino..
