HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances_1008ORDINANCE NO. 1008 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS, DESIGNATING A CERTAIN STREET AS A BOULEVARD AI(DD REQUIRING THAT ALL VEHICLES SHALL BE STOPPED BEFORE ENTERING OR CROSSING SAID BOULEVARD, SAID CREATING A CERTAIN INTERSECTION AS A I STOP t INTERSECTION. The City Council of the City of Redlands does ordain as follows: Section 0ne: That the following street is hereby declared to constitute a boulevard within the meaning of the California Vehicle Act and that all vehicle traffic shall be stopped before entering or crossing said boulevard and street. EAST COLTON AVENUE at it's intersection with Alta Street and all vehicle traffic entering the intersection in a northerly direction on Alta from the Terrace and continuing north into Colton Avenue shall stop before doing so. Section Two: The Chief of Police is hereby authorized to erect and maintain a ISTOPt sign conforming to the requirements of the California Vehicle Act, and when such a sign is erected every driver of a vehicle shall stop his vehicle accordingly, Section Three: This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and approval as provided by law. Any person violating this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon convic.'tion thereof be punished by a fine not exceeding $25.00 or 5 days in jail, or both such fine and imprisonment. Section Four: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published once in the Redlands Daily Facts, the newspaper hereby designated for that purpose and published and circulated in the City of Redlands.
