A RESOLUTION PROPOSING A CERTAIN PROPOSITION TO 'I"HE VOT 'S OF HE
CITY OF REDLANDS AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF REDLANDS TO CONTRACT" T
TRACT WITH
THE BOARD, Off' ADMINISTRATION,, CALIPORNIA STATE EMPLOYZZSv RETIREMENT
SYSTEM* PROVIDING FOR THE PARTICIPATION OF THE REDLANDS CITY EMPLOYEES
THEREIN AND APPROVING THE LEVYING OF TAXE3 FOR THE SAME*
The City Council of the City of Redlands hereby resolves that the
following proposal be and the same is hereby submitted, to-wit :
The legislative authority, the City Council of the City of Redlands
hereby determines to submit to the qualified electova of said City the
hereinafter set forth proposal, and said proposal will be submitted to
the qualified electors of said City for their ratification or rejection
at a special election to be called, had and held after the publication
of said proposal, in the manner required by law, to-wit :
PROPOSED PROPOSITION.
It is hereby proposed that the City Council shall, with all due
diligence,, contract with the Board of Administration of the ;tate
Employees ' Retirement System, and do all things necessary to provide
for the participation b7 the City of Redlands and the employees thereof,
in the State Employees ' Retirement System, with full credit being
given to the employees of said City for prior service rendered;
That any contract 8o entered into by said City Council with the
Poard of Administration of the State Employees , Retirement System
shall only be terminated by an ordinance adopted by a majority vote
of the electorate of the City of Redlands;
The City Council shall each year levy a tax to meet the obli:7at ' ons
oLl the City to the State Employees , Retirement System, and the lir"Viita-
tions of taxation for the general fund with respect to the levy and
collection of taxes shall not apply to any such tax so leviecl.,
That upon the approval of this Resolution by the City Council of
the City of Redlands , the Clt.r Clerk is authorized and directed to
cause the same to be published once in the Redlands Daily Facts, a
newspaper of general circulation,, printed and published in the City
of Redlands,
The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this Resolution
and cause the same to be published in the manner required herein.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly adopted
by the Cit--y Council of the City of Redlands at a meeting thereof held
on theIS'* day of February, 1945, by the following vote, to-wit :
Ayes : Councilmen Tho rnquest , Hyinlx, Clapp, Gunter and Mayor
Fletcher
