A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
DIRECTING THAT A PLAQUE BE PLACED ON STATE ROUTE 30
RECOGNIZING CHRESTEN MILLS KNUDSEN
WHEREAS, Chresten Mills Knudsen , long-time resident of
Redlands , served as a member of the City Council of the
City of Redlands for 12 years following his election in
1968; and
WHEREAS, during Mr. Knudsen ' s tenure on the Redlands
City Council, he also served as President of the San
Bernardino Association of Governments (SANBAG) ; and
WHEREAS, during Mr. Knudsen ' s SANBAG term, he was able
to convince the association to earmark the Federal Aid for
Urban Development Funds for the Tennessee Street extension
to the north, now known as State Route 30 Crosstown
Freeway; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Redlands hereby supports the placement of a
plaque on Route 30 naming the interchange to honor Mr .
Knudsen for his continued efforts for the construction of
this freeway connecting Redlands to nearby communities.
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 15th day of August ,
1990 .
