The attached schedule lists the type of record and includes the legally required retention period, a staff recommended retention period, and the appropriate legal citation, if applicable. The records listed in this Schedule have a legal, fiscal, administrative or historical value to the City. In most cases, public records not addressed in the attached schedule should be considered routine in nature and retained for two(2)years unless specific laws, decisions,or opinions would apply to the record. If a particular record is not addressed in the attached schedule and the department believes other legal requirements apply or it is an essential record for legal, historical, fiscal or administrative value, then that record can be added to the retention schedule with the assistance of the City Attorney's Office. 1.Acclerk?Resolutions"6576.wpd 8 LEGEND Records Retention: A=Active Ad=Adoption AU=Audit C= Current CL=Closed Co=Completion E=Election L=Life(of the equipment, structure, or item) 0= Obsolete P =Permanent S = Supersede T=Termination CITATIONS B&P = California Business & Professions Code CCP = Code of Civil Procedure CCR= California Code of Regulations CEQA= California Environmental Quality Act CFR= Code of Federal Regulations EC = Elections Code EV= Evidence Code GC = Government Code H&S = Health & Safety Code HUD = Housing&Urban Development Local Government Guidelines = California Secretary of State's February 2006 Local Government Records Management Guidelines LC =Labor Code OMB= Federal Office of Management and Budget OSHA=Occupational Safety&Health Agency PC=Penal Code POST=Police Officers Standards Training UFC = Uniform Fire Code USC= United States Code WIC=Welfare& Institutions Code 1:\cclerk,\Resolutions',0576,xvpd 9 RECORDS RETENTION SCHEDULE CITY OF REDLANDS City Department/ Legal Staff Authority Description Record Series Title Retention Recommended In Years Retention In Years ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES DEPARTMENT Building Maintenance Bids: Are public records under GC§4004.
