A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
APPROVING AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO THE JOINT EXERCISE OF
POWERS AGREEMENT CREATING AN AGENCY TO BE KNOWN AS THE
SAN BERNARDINO REGIONAL AIRPORT AUTHORITY
WHEREAS, the City of Redlands ("City") is a municipal
corporation, duly created and existing pursuant to the
Constitution and the laws of the State of California; and
WHEREAS, the City is a member of the San Bernardino Regional
Airport Authority ("Authority") which is a joint powers authority
formed by the legislative bodies of its members pursuant to a
certain agreement entitled "Joint Exercise of Powers Agreement
Creating an Agency to be Known as the San Bernardino Regional
Airport Authority" ( "Agreement") in accordance with Section 6500
et sea. , of the California Government Code; and
WHEREAS, the Authority was created primarily for the
purposes of acquiring, operating, repairing, maintaining and
administering the aviation related portions of the Norton Air
Force Base as a public airport; and
WHEREAS, the City deems it appropriate to change the name of
the Authority to The San Bernardino International Airport
Authority, and the name of the Commission of the Authority to the
San Bernardino international Airport Authority Commission for
marketing purposes; and
WHEREAS, the City at this time deems it appropriate to
authorize the preparation of a composite "First Amended Joint
Exercise of Powers Agreement Creating an Agency to be Known as
The San Bernardino International Airport Authority" (the "First
Amended Agreement") and to approve Amendment No. 1 to the
Agreement, a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit "A"' and
incorporated herein by this reference;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, DETERMINED AND ORDERED by
the City Council of the City of Redlands as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Council hereby authorizes the
preparation of a composite First Amended Agreement and approves
Amendment No. 1 to the Agreement, as attached hereto as Exhibit
"A"' with any such non-substantive changes as may be approved by
the Mayor and City Attorney.

SECTION 2 . The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized
to execute Amendment No. I to the Agreement and the First Amended
Agreement on behalf of the City and take all such other action as
may be necessary in order to implement the provisions of the
Amendment No. 1 to the Agreement.
SECTION 3 . This resolution shall take effect upon its
adoption.
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 1st day of September,
1992 .

FIRST AMENDED AGREEMENT
1. Title is revised to read "First Amended Joint Exercise of
Powers Agreement Creating an Agency to be Known as The San
Bernardino International Airport Authority. "
2 . Paragraph 1 , Page 1, is revised to read "This First Amended
Agreement, dated for convenience as of September 1, 1992 , is
made by and among the County of San Bernardino, City of
Colton, City of Highland, City of Loma Linda, City of
Redlands, and City of San Bernardino (hereinafter sometimes
collectively referred to as the "Parties") and includes the
amendments approved by the Parties pursuant to Amendment
No. 1 to the original Joint Exercise of Powers Agreement
dated May 12 , 1992 , "
3 . Section 2 .A, Page 3 : "San Bernardino Regional Airport
Authority" is revised to read "San Bernardino International
Airport Authority" .
4 . Section 2 .B. , Page 3 : "San Bernardino Regional Airport

RE: Resolution of the City Council of the City of Loma Linda
Approving Amendment No. 1 to the Joint Exercise of Powers
Agreement Creating An Agency To Be Known as The San
Bernardino Regional Airport Authority (CSB00012)
During the July 15, 1992 meeting of the Commission of the
San Bernardino Regional Airport Authority ("Authority") , the
Commissioners discussed the appropriateness of changing the name of
the. Authority to the San Bernardino International Airport Authority
and the name of the Commission to the San Bernardino International
Airport Authority Commission for marketing purposes. The
Commission also requested its members to consider and approve an
Amendment No. 1 to the Joint Exercise of Powers Agreement which
revises the Agreement to reflect changed names only.
Enclosed please find a Resolution Approving Amendment
No. 1 to the Agreement and a Draft Staff Report for your use that
may be incorporated into whatever form you wish.
Please calendar the Resolution for the first available
hearing of the City Council.

BACKGROUND
At the July 15, 1992 meeting of the Commission of the San
Bernardino Regional Airport Authority ("Authority") , the
commissioners discussed the appropriateness of changing the name of
the Authority to the San Bernardino International Airport Authority
and the name of the proposed airport to the San Bernardino
International Airport for marketing purposes. The Commission
instructed Authority staff to prepare an amendment to the existing
Airport Authority Joint Exercise of Powers Agreement. This
Amendment revises the Joint Exercise of Powers Agreement to reflect
the changed names of the Authority and the Commission only, for
consideration by the five (5) city members and the County of
San Bernardino.
RECOMMENDATIONS
It is recommended that the City Council approve the above
referenced Resolution.
