A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
DEFINING LIVING SPACE AS THE TERM IS USED
IN RESOLUTION NO. 4158 RELATING TO
MITIGATION OF SCHOOL IMPACTION CAUSED BY
RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT
WHEREAS, this City Council has previously adopted
school impaction mitigation fees in order to mitigate the
potential significant or substantial adverse effects of new
residential development upon school enrollment in the
Redlands Unified School District; and
WHEREAS , it has become apparent that the use of the
term "living space" in Section six of Resolution No. 4158 is
subject to varying definitions ;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council
of the City of Redlands as follows :
SECTION ONE: Definition of Living Space . For the
purposes of mitigating school impaction caused by
residential development , the term "living space" shall be
defined to mean square footage of floor space within the
interior surfaces of the exterior walls of residential
development, except garages and carports .
SECTION TWO: Effective Date. The provisions of
this resolution are deemed to be declarative of the existing
living space definition.
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 17th day of June ,
1986 .
