A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
ADOPTING LOCAL GUIDELINES FOR IMPLEMEN'T'ATION OF THE CALIFORNIA
ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY ACT
WHEREAS, the California Legislature has recently amended the California Quality Act
("CEQA"),established new State Guidelines implementing CEQA, and the California courts have
continued to interpret the specific provisions of CEQA; and
WHEREAS, CEQA requires all public agencies to adopt objectives,criteria and procedures
for the evaluation ofpublic and private projects undertaken or approved by such public agencies,and
the preparation,if required,of environmental impact reports in connection with that evaluation;and
WHEREAS,the City of Redlands must revise its local guidelines for implementing CEQA
to make them consistent with the current provisions and interpretations of CEQA.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redlands as
follows:
Section 1. Amendment and adoption of Local CEQA Guidelines The City of Redlands
hereby amends and adopts the City's "Local Guidelines for Implementing the California
Environmental Quality Act,"a copy of which is on file at the office of the City Clerk and is available
for inspection by the public.
Section 2. Prior Actions Re ealed. All prior actions of the City of Redlands enacting earlier
resolutions relating to CEQA Local Guidelines and the guidelines themselves are hereby repealed.
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 3rd day of April, 2001.
