A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
AUTHORIZING THE GRANT ACCEPTANCE AND EXECUTION OF THE
GRANT FUNDS FROM THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY OFFICE OF
STATE AND COMMUNITY ENERGY PROGRAMS AND ENERGY
EFFICIENCY AND CONSERVATION BLOCK GRANT (EEBBG) PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the U. S. Department of Energy (DOE) received $550 million in funding from
the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) and the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and the Energy
Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) Program which is managed by the DOE Office
of State and Energy Community Programs (SCEP) allocated $133,300 to the City of Redlands; and
WHEREAS, the EECBG Funding is intended to purchase energy efficient HVAC equipment
for the Joslyn Senior Center; and
WHEREAS, the City of Redlands desires to undertake the Energy and Efficiency and
Conservation Block Grant ("EECBG") Program and accept a grant in the amount of $133,300.00; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has considered all information related to this matter, as
presented at the public meetings of the City Council identified herein, including any supporting reports
by City Staff, and any information provided during public meetings.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
REDLANDS AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council hereby finds that the facts set forth in the recitals to this
Resolution are true and correct and establish the factual basis for the City Council's adoption
of this Resolution.
Section 2. Approve a budget appropriation of $133,330.00 to the Intergovernmental
Grants-State/County U. S. Department of Energy Office of State and Community Energy
Program Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant - Account No. 200164-8706.
Section 3. The City Manager of the City of Redlands, or designee is hereby authorized
and directed to execute the funding agreement with the U.S. Department of Energy Office of
State and Community Energy Programs and any amendments thereto.
Section 4. The City Manager of the City of Redlands, or designee is hereby authorized
and directed to submit any required documents, funding requests, and reports required to obtain
grant funding.

Section 5. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon adoption by
the Redlands City Council.
