A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
AUTHORIZING CERTAIN CITY OFFICIALS AND A CITY CONTRACTOR
ACCESS TO SALES AND USE TAX RECORDS PURSUANT TO GOVERN-
MENT CODE SECTION 7056 AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 3990
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS hereby
resolves as follows :
SECTION I . The following City officials are hereby
authorized to receive and review sales and use tax trans-
actions for the City of Redlands from the Board of
Equalization:
Mayor, Mayor Pro Tem, Councilmembers , City
Manager , Finance Director, and City Treasurer
SECTION 2 . The following independent contractor for
the City of Redlands is hereby also authorized to receive
and review sales and use tax transactions for the City of
Redlands :
Robert Hinderliter & Associates :
Robert Hinderliter, President
SECTION 3 . The City of Redlands hereby certifies
that Robert Hinderliter & Associates :
A. Has an existing contract with the City of
Redlands to receive sales and use tax
records; and
B . Is required by that contract to disclose
information contained in, or derived from,
those sales and use tax records only to an.
officer or employee of the City who is
authorized by this resolution to examine
the information; and
C. Is prohibited by that contract from
performing consulting services for a
retailer during the term of that
contract; and
D. Is prohibited by that contract from
retaining the information contained in,
or derived from, those sales tax records ,
after that contract has expired.
SECTION 4 . Information obtained by examination of
board records shall be used only for purposes related to
the collection of local sales and use taxes by the board
pursuant to the contract , and for Municipal Revenue
Forecasting.
SECTION 5 . This resolution supercedes all previous
authorizations .
SECTION 6 . The City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this resolution and forward a certified copy
to the Board of Equalization .
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 17th day of
December, 1985 .
