HomeMy WebLinkAbout3925_CCv0001.pdf RESOLUTION NO. 3925 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS FINDING AND DECLARING THAT THE PROVISION OF LOW- AND MODERATE-INCOME HOUSING OUTSIDE THE REDLANDS REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT AREA FOR SENIOR CITIZEN HOUSING IS OF BENEFIT TO THE PROJECT AREA AND AUTHORIZED BY CALIFORNIA HEALTH AND SAFETY CODE SECTION 33334. 2 WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Redlands ("Agency") is authorized by Section 33334. 2 (i) of the California Health & Safety Code to use all or any portion of taxes which are allocated to the Agency pursuant to Section 33670 of the California Health & Safety Code for purposes of increasing and improving the community's supply of low- and moderate-income housing; and WHEREAS, the Agency wishes to assist in funding the Redlands Senior Housing Project and finds that the provision of such senior citizen low- and moderate-income housing both within and without the Redlands Redevelopment Agency Project Area would be of benefit to the Redlands Redevelopment Project Area; and WHEREAS, the purposes of the Redlands Redevelopment Project will be furthered by construction of the Redlands Senior Housing Project thereby resulting in the revitalization of blighted areas and the promotion of redevelopment activities by establishing new residential uses of benefit to the Redlands Redevelopment Project and Agency has requested that the City Council of the City of Redlands find that the provisions of low- and moderate-income housing outside the Project Area will be of benefit to the Project Area. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS does hereby find, determine and resolve as follows: SECTION ONE: The City Council of the City of Redlands finds and declares that the provision of low- and moderate-income senior citizen housing outside the Redlands Redevelopment Project Area is of benefit to the Redlands Redevelopment Project Area. SECTION TWO: Notwithstanding the adoption of the Redlands Redevelopment Project prior to January 1 , 1977, the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Redlands elects to make the requirements of subsections (e) , (f) , (g) , (h) , and (i) of California Health & Safety Code Section 33334 . 2 applicable to the Redlands Redevelopment Agency of the City of Redlands prior to the adoption of this resolution. Such election shall include applying such portion of taxes which are allocated to the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Redlands pursuant to California Health & Safety Code Section 333670 which are necessary to be used by the Agency for the increasing and improving the community ' s Supply purposes of moderate-income housing available at affordab phousicost and nd assisting in funding the Redlands Senior Housing Project. Except for those portions of tax increment allocated to the Agency pursuant to California Health & Safety Section 33670 which are used by the Agency for the purpose Codeofassisting in funding the Redlands Senior Housing Project, Agency shall .not be required to use any additional funds during the life of the Redlands Redevelopment Project for the ,purposes of complying with the provisions of subsection California Health & Safety Code Section. 33334 . 2, lad of SECTION THREE: The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution and shall transmit a copy forthwith to the Secretary of the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Redlands, 1983,ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 13th day of October, May r of the City of Redlands ATTEST: Clerk �' I, Lorrie Poyzer, City Clerk, City of Redlands, hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly adopted by the City Council at a regular meeting thereof held on the 13th day of October, 1983, by the following vote: AYES: Councilman DeMir ' n� NOES: None Jy Mayor Roth ABSENT: Councilmen Martinez, Gorman ABSTAIN: Councilman Johnson Cit Clerk / c.
