HomeMy WebLinkAbout3893_CCv0001.pdf RESOLUTION NO. 3893 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS SUPPORTING A SENIOR HOUSING PROJECT IN THE CITY OF REDLANDS WHEREAS, there is a shortage of housing for the low income elderly of the Redlands area; and WHEREAS, the City of Redlands desires to recognize its responsibility to assist in the provision of decent, safe and affordable housing for the elderly; and. WHEREAS, American Baptist Homes of the West (ABHOW) will submit a proposal for 80 rental units for the elderly under the 202/Section 8 Programs administered by the Federal Department of Housing and Urban Development; and WHEREAS, ABHOW requires certain assistance and support from the City and its agencies to attract the required federal con- struction mortgage and rental assistance funding sought under the 202/8 program. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redlands that it hereby pledges its support and that of its agencies to support ABHOW in its efforts to attract the required federal construction mortgage and rental assistance funding sought under the 202/8 program; and FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED that the City and/or its Agencies will make available, if necessary, up to $1 Million of assistance to this effort, $30, 000. 00 of which will be released for pre- liminary design, engineering, site control and consulting services; and FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED that the City will give priority to the processing of applications associated with this development.
