WHEREAS9 the City Council of the City of Redlands or the 3rd day of
October, 1961 adopted Ordinance No. 1.180 entitled "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY
OF REDLANDS FIXING AND ESTABLISHING CHARGES FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE CITY
SEWERAGE FACILITIES".
WHEREAS, said ordinance establishes a sewer construction charge for
acquisition, management, operation, maintenance, and reconstruction of
sanitary sewerage facilities, and provides that every owner or occupant of
a dwellings building, or structure in the City of Redlands who connects to
the city sewerage system, or applies for a building permit, shall pay into
the Sewer Rental Fund a charge as provided in said ordinance.
WHEREAS, it is fair and equitable that the owners or occupants of
dwellings, buildings, or structures in existence, prior to the effective
date of Ordinance No. 11.80, who connect to the City of Redlands sewerage
system, shall not be required to comply with the provisions of Ordinance
No. 1180 if connection to the sewerage system is made within a reasonable
time, and that two years is reasonable.
IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council as follows;,
SECTION ONES That no owner or occupant of a dwelling, building, or
structure in existence when Ordinance No. 1.180 takes effect shall be re-
quired to comply with -its provisions if connection is made to the City
of Redlands sewerage system within two years after the effective date of
the ordinance.
SECTION TWO; That the owners or occupants of a dwelling, building,
or structure in existence prior to the date Ordinance No. 1180 takes
effect, shall be permitted to connect to the sewerage system of the City
of Redlands during the two years following the enactment of the ordinance
without paying said construction charge as specified in Ordinance No.11800
