A RESOLUTION CONCERNING SEWER SERVICE WITHIN THE CITY OF REDLANDS
WHEREAS, the City of Redlands presently is incapable of econom-
ically providing adequate sewer service to the Northwest area within
the City; and
WHEREAS, any available means of serving the said area with
sewer service from the City system would be more expensive than joint
use of the City of San Bernardino's existing sewer facilities and
other sewer facilities to be constructed; and
WHEREAS, the City of San Bernardino has capacity available in
its said facilities;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Redlands hereby
resolves as follows:
1. To approve, in principle, the joint use of the City of San
Bernardino ' s Southeast Industrial Parks Project single trunk sewer
system to be constructed for the Redevelopment Agency of San
Bernardino to serve the area within the Northwest portion of the City
of Redlands.
2. To authorize the City Manager to negotiate, by agreements
with the Mayor and the Redevelopment Agency of the City of San
Bernardino and other responsible officials, for the acquisition of
3.6 million gallons per day flow rate capacity in the said trunk
sewer to be constructed extending to Richardson Street and San
Bernardino Avenue and for the necessary treatment of the sewage
effluent produced within the said Redlands area.
3. To authorize the payment to the City of San Bernardino the
amount of $78, 525.00 for oversizing of the said trunk sewer and for
the acquisition of the said 3 .6 MGD flow capacity in the trunk sewer
for the City of Redlands.
