A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL INVITING THE CITY
OF SART MIGUEL DE ALLENDE, MEXICO TO JOIN WITH THE
CITY OF REDLANDS N A "S,1STER CITY AFFILIATION"
WHEREAS, the City of Redlands, California is desirous of
establishing a "Sister City" affiliation with the City of San
Miguel de Allende; and
WHEREAS , the People of the City of Redlands recognize the
City of San Miguel De Allende as one of Mexico ' s leading centers
of arts, music, and education, rash in its nation ' s historical
traditions and bright in its future hopes ; and
WHEREAS , the People of Redlands and San Miguel de Allende
share a deep dedication to individual freedom and democracy in
their communities and a common interest in promoting the spir-
itual and cultural values of civilized mankind; and
WHEREAS, the City of Redlands is desirous of establishing
a sister city affiliation with the City of San Miguel.. de Allende
and forging a close bond between people of Mexico and the United
States, and these two cities; and
WHEREAS, citizens, students and civic officials of Redlands
desire a close friendship and good neighbor relationship with San
Miguel de Allende, and plan special activities, people to people
communication and cultural exchanges to such end;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of
the City of Redlands does hereby invite the City of San Miguel
de Allende to become Redlands ' Sister City.
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 25th day of October, 1967.
