A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL INVITING THE
CITY OF INVERNESS, SCOTLAND TO JOIN WITH THE
CITY OF REDLANDS IN A "SISTER CITY AFFILIATION"
WHEREAS, the City of Redlands, California is desir-
ous of establishing a "Sister City" affiliation with the
City of Inverness, Scotland; and
WHEREAS, the People of the City of Redlands recog-
nize the City of Inverness as one of Scotland 's leading
centers, rich in its nation 's historical traditions and
bright in its future hopes; and
WHEREAS, the People of Redlands and Inverness share
a deep dedication to individual freedom and democracy in
their communities and a common interest in promoting the
spiritual and cultural values of civilized mankind; and
WHEREAS, the City of Redlands is conscious of the
mutual benefits of a "Sister City" affiliation with the
City of Inverness and wishes to forge a close bond between
people of Scotland and the United States, and particularly
these two cities;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council
of the City of Redlands does hereby invite the City of
Inverness to become Redlands ' Sister City.
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 15th day of October,
1974.
