A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CI'T'Y OF REDLANDS APPROVING
PLAN AMENDMENT OF THE SOLID WAS'T'E MANAGEMENT PLAN FOR SAN BERNARDINO
COUNTY TO PROVIDE FOR THE LIMITED EXPANSION OF HEAPS PEAK REFUSE
SITE LOCATED BETWEEN RUNNING SPRINGS AND SKY FOREST ON STATE HIGHWAY

WHEREAS, the State of California has adopted. the Solid Waste
Management and Resource Recovery Act of 1972 (Sections 66700-66793,
Government Cade) and Title 14 , California Administrative Cade Sec-
tions 17110-17160; and
WHEREAS, said Act required each county to prepare a Solid
Waste Management easter Plan; and
WHEREAS, Section, 17155 Title, California Administrative Cade,
requires that plan amendments be approved by a majority of the
cities containing a majority of the population of the incorporated
area; and
WHEREAS, the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors has
authorized the amendment of said plan;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of Redlands does hereby approve said amendment.
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 17th day of July, 1979 .

Gentlemen:
Please find enclosed a proposed resolution for your adoption
that would allow this county's Solid Waste Management taster Plan
to be amended to provide for the Limited expansion of the Heaps
Peak refuse disposal site.
This was approved by the San Bernardino County Solid Waste Advisory
Council at their regular meeting of May 30, 1979.
We ask your consideration of this matter by August 1, 1979, if at
all possible.
