HomeMy WebLinkAbout2964_CCv0001.pdf RESOLUTION NO , 2964 A RESOLUTION OF THE C17Y OF REDLANDS ESTABLISHING SCHEDULE OF RATES TO BE CHARGED BY DISPOSAL DEPARTMENT AS PROVIDED BY SECTION 3923 OF ORDINANCE NO, 1246, AND RESCTNDING RESO- LUTIONS 2607 AND 2821 WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the adoption of the rate schedule contained herein will assure a continuing high standard of disposal service by the Disposal Department for the people of Redlands; and WHEREAS, said rate schedule corresponds with the average rates charged for disposal service in cities of comparable population and in the same class as the City of Redlands; and WHEREAS, the increase in cost of maintenance and operation of the Disposal Department emphasizes the necessity of adopting the proposed collection rate schedule to keep pace with the growth and development of the City of Redlands; NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Redlands does hereby RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS : 1v That beginning August 1, 1972, the following schedule of collection rates for service by the Disposal Department shall be in force and effect: Residential Collection,: $3 . 75per month with the exception of those areas outlined on the map attached hereto, where the rate shall be 5® per mcnth, 111liple Dwellings : $2 ,30 per month for each unit in a multiple dwelling, Commercial : Beginninq at $5 ,30 per month and up-, ward as determined by standard rate tables in the Disposal Department administered by the Director of Sanitation, (A copy of said table is attached hereto and shall be a part of this resolution. ) 2 . All garbage collected at any private dwelling or residence, and from every business place or other places not private residences, shall be collected by the City or such independent contractors or agents as shall be authorized by the City Council to make such col- lections. 3 The Provisions of this resolution shall not apply to the following premises : a. A dwelling on a single pa:rcel of land �,Ahich includes f--' ve (5) acres or more and is used primarily for agr:-%,- cultzi-ral purposes. b, Residences of persons w.ho may. be qranted exemptions by the City Council upon clear and satisfactory evidence that applilCation of thIs resoluL-ion would cause substan- ti'al hardship to such pe soros The City Manager may authorize such exemptions followring a report and recommendation from a cowittee of three members, Whi o shall. be t1he City Treasurer, the Director of Finance, and the D-isposal Superintend- ent, ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 5th day of July, 1972, ayor of t-he City of Rei' n s ATTEST All CV- V-/ lerk APPROVED FOR FOR YI- /* City.
