A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS ESTABLISHING RATES AND
CHARGES BY THE DISPOSAL DEPARTMENT AS PROVIDED BY SECTION
39204 OF ORDINANCE NO . 1612 , and RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO . 3380
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS DOES HEREBY RESOLVE
AS FOLLOWS :
A. That subsequent to July 1 , 1978 , the following schedule
of collection rates for service by the Disposal Department shall
be in force and effect:
Residential Collections
$5 . 45 per month with the exception of those areas outlined
on the map attached hereto, where the rate shall be $6 . 90
per month.
Multiple Dwellings : (apartment & mobile home)
$3 . 35 per month for each unit in a multiple dwelling.
P.R.D. & Condominium:
75% of the area rate for each unit if picked up individually
and yard rubbish is handled separately. Multiple dwelling
rate for each unit if two or three cubic yard containers
are used and complex is billed as one unit.
Commercial :
Cans : Beginning at $7.50 per month for twice a week service
and upward as determined by standard rate table in the
Disposal Department administered by the Sanitation Director.
(A copy of said table is attached hereto and shall be a part
of this resolution. )
Multiple Unit : Minimum of $3. 45 per month for each unit in
a multiple unit commercial complex.
Hand-Loaded Refuse: Charges will be computed at the rate
of $0 .70 per minute of service .
Front & Rear Loading Bin Rental :
1-cubic yard $ 5 . 75 per month
2-cubic yard 9 . 20 per month
3-cubic yard 9 . 20 per month
3-cubic yard
balanced lid 11 . 50 per month
4-cubic yard 11 . 50 per month
Front & Rear Loading Bin Service :
$1 .15 per cubic yard of refuse capacity each time serviced;
the minimum charge (including bin rental) will be $11 . 50
per month.
Roll-off Drop Box Rental :
15-cubic yard $46 .00 per month
20-cubic yard $57. 50 per month
30-cubic yard $57. 50 per month
Roll-Off Drop Box Service :
Including rental,_ ifLLpicked up at least once a week.
15-cubic yard $31 . 65 per load
20-cubic yard $40 . 25 per load
30-cubic yard $48 . 90 per load
Extra $2. 00 per day for each day over a week that box is
not serviced.
Roll-Off Drop Box Service - Customer Owned:
15-cubic yard $23 . 00 per load
20--cubic yard $28 . 75 per load
30-cubic yard $34 . 50 per load
Compactor Box Service : $1 . 75 per cubic yard of refuse
capacity each time serviced.
Tilt Hopper Rental :
3-cubic yard $11 .50 per month
Steam Cleaning of Bins : $11 .50 per cleaning for any size
bin .
Special Hauls :.
$3 .45 minimum
$9 . 20 first 15 minutes
$2. 60 each additional 5 minutes up to 1 hour
$2. 30 each additional 5 minutes thereafter
White goods : stove , washing machine, dryer , water heater
$5 . 75 for 1 piece , $4 . 60 each additional piece
$5 . 75 for upholstered couch
$5 . 75 for box springs & mattress
$4 . 60 for chair
Refrigerator or freezer free of charge to residential accounts .
B. The rates and charges established by this resolution will
be effective subsequent to July 1 , 1978 .
C. All garbage collected at any private dwelling or residence,
and from every business place or other places not private residences,
shall be collected by the City or such independent contractors or
agents as shall be authorized by the City Council to make such
collections.

D. The provisions of this resolution shall not apply to the
following premises :
1 . A dwelling on a single parcel of land which includes
five (5) acres or more and is used primarily for
agricultural purposes .
2 . Residences of persons who may be granted exemptions
by the City Council upon clear and satisfactory
evidence that application of this resolution would
cause substantial hardship to such persons . The
City Manager may authorize such exemptions following
a report and recommendation from a committee of three
members , who shall be the City Treasurer, the Director
of Finance, and the Sanitation Director.
